This course goes over theories of crime that explain why certain places or neighborhoods have more crime than others.
By the end of the course, students should expect:
- To be able to use different theories of crime to make predictions about when and where crime is most prevalent
- Understand how police departments and crime analysts use such information to inform police practices to combat crime
- See how well those different theories of crime explain spatial patterns of crime in Dallas.
