Communities and Crime (Undergrad) Crim 4323

This course goes over theories of crime that explain why certain places or neighborhoods have more crime than others.

By the end of the course, students should expect:

  • To be able to use different theories of crime to make predictions about when and where crime is most prevalent
  • Understand how police departments and crime analysts use such information to inform police practices to combat crime
  • See how well those different theories of crime explain spatial patterns of crime in Dallas.
